I am so excited to tell you my story and how you are about to be part of my childhood dream. 

I started Alma Dance Academy in 2018 as part of my business goal but it all began when I was 4 yrs old. 

 

As a young dancer, into a competitive teen dancer and later a professional dancer of stage, film and tv, I always was told that my body type would never find a place in this industry of performing arts. 

This would crush me every time, but I persisted. 

 

Whenever I would hear this, I just couldn't understand why. I would always say "one day I will create a space thats safe for all dancers, of all genders, or all body types to come and live this passion that dance has always created for me." Performing gave me a freedom unlike any other art form I have ever experienced and I wanted to pass that love on.

 

Here is when you get to be part of my dream, creating ADA 6 years ago was not only a goal, but a mission. I needed to create a space where all dancers can be taught properly not only about dance but about self love and acceptance. I have hired unique individuals who love dance as much as I do, who will guide these young minds with respect , proper training, positive reinforcement and passion.

 

It would be fantastic to talk about awards and accolades, which we will, but I believe its more important to talk about HOW your child, your young dancer will grow with Alma Dance Academy.

 

Our mission is clear:

To develop strong, well trained dancers in multiple techniques/genres and performance ability that allows all our members to be individuals while respecting differences and  creating a positive dance academy where technique is as important as a kind heart.
